190 In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, are signs for people of understanding. 191 They remember Allah while standing, sitting, and lying on their sides, and they reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth: “Our Lord, You did not create this without purpose. Glory be to You; protect us from the punishment of the Fire.” 192 “Our Lord, anyone You admit to the Fire is truly disgraced, and the wrongdoers will have no helpers.” 193 “Our Lord, we heard a caller inviting people to faith: ‘Believe in your Lord,’ and we believed. Our Lord, forgive our sins, erase our misdeeds, and let us die among the righteous.” 194 “Our Lord, grant us what You promised through Your messengers, and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. You never break Your promise.” 195 Their Lord answered them: “I will never let the work of any of you be lost, whether male or female; you are from one another. I will erase the misdeeds of those who emigrated, were driven from their homes, were harmed in My cause, fought, or were killed, and I will admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow—a reward from Allah. With Allah is the finest reward.” 196 Do not be deceived by the freedom with which the disbelievers move through the land. 197 It is only a brief enjoyment; then Hell will be their home—and what a miserable resting place. 198 But those who are mindful of their Lord will have gardens beneath which rivers flow, where they will remain: a welcome from Allah. What is with Allah is better for the righteous. 199 Among the People of the Scripture are those who believe in Allah, in what was revealed to you, and in what was revealed to them. They humble themselves before Allah and do not trade Allah’s revelations for a small price. Their reward is with their Lord; Allah is swift in reckoning. 200 Believers, be steadfast, outdo one another in steadfastness, remain ready, and be mindful of Allah so that you may succeed.
