Narration
كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا أَتَاهُ الْأَمْرُ يَسُرُّهُ قَالَ:
When something happened that pleased him, the Prophet used to say:
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي بِنِعْمَتِهِ تَتِمُّ الصَّالِحَاتُ
Narration
وَإِذَا أَتَاهُ الْأَمْرُ يَكْرَهُهُ قَالَ:
And if something happened that displeased him, he used to say:
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ
Transliteration
Al-ḥamdu li-llāhi alladhī bi-niʿmatihi tatimmu aṣ-ṣāliḥāt
And if something happened that displeased him, he used to say:
Al-ḥamdu li-llāhi ʿalā kulli ḥāl
Translation
Praise is to Allah Who by His blessings all good things are perfected.
And if something happened that displeased him, he used to say:
Praise is to Allah in all circumstances.
