Invocations for the dead in the Funeral prayer (1 of 4)
Allāhumma ighfir lahu wa irḥamhu, wa ʿāfihi, wa iʿfu ʿanhu, wa akrim nuzulahu, wa wassiʿ mudkhalahu, wa ighsilhu bi-l-māʾi wa ath-thalji wa-l-baradi, wa naqqihi mina l-khaṭāyā kamā naqqayta ath-thawba l-ʾabyaḍa mina ad-danasi, wa abdilhu dāran khayran min dārihi, wa ahlan khayran min ahlihi, wa zawjā khayran min zawjihi, wa adkhilhu l-jannata, wa aʿidhhu min ʿadhābi l-qabri wa ʿadhābi an-nār
O Allah, forgive and have mercy upon him, excuse him and pardon him, and make honourable his reception. Expand his entry, and cleanse him with water, snow, and ice, and purify him of sin as a white robe is purified of filth. Exchange his home for a better home, and his family for a better family, and his spouse for a better spouse. Admit him into the Garden, protect him from the punishment of the grave and the torment of the Fire.
